Yay, no ear infection! Doc said most likely since his sinuses are draining, it's creating pressure in his ears and that's why he's pulling/rubbing on them. Lil does have a cold, so two weeks of feelin doodie on top of teething for Momma.
I also really liked the doc, she didn't give me any flack about not having Lil vaccinated, at all, not even a side ways "one of THOSE moms" look. She has no idea how much I appreciated that, since every other visit the docs have been trying to tell me how important it is to vaccinate my child with brake fluid and aborted fetus tissue (info on what's in vaccinations HERE) If that doesn't creep you out, I'm not sure what will. I'm not keen on the idea of putting known TOXINS into my infant's body, especially when it's a swarm of 6 shots at some visits, and all that CRAP in his tiny body. Kiss my exceptionally white, day-glo neon clear ass.
Well, it's about time for bed, both the boys are KO'ed (at least for now, I have a strong feeling Lil will be up wanting snuggles in a few hours).

Firsts You'd Love to Skip
First broken bone, first trip to the ER, first cold, first ear infection, first pb and j sandwich shoved into the VCR...
And so with Lil, looks like we've reached our first summer cold and ear infection. Last night he kept waking up whining like he wasn't feeling well, and I had to sit in the rocker and cuddle him back to sleep. He keeps tugging and rubbing on his ears, so I'm suspecting an ear infection as well. Huzzah! Cranky baby and no sleep for me.
We have an appointment at the hospital at 2.30, so we'll see what's going on then. I'm honestly a little paranoid because this whole thing with Quincy started with some nasty ear infections as an infant. If we do have an ear infection, we're not doing antibiotics, I'm taking my happy hind end to the health food store for some OoO (oil of oregano), or making some oilve oil and garlic (drops for the ear), as a natural remedy since antibiotics kill off all the good bacteria and flora in your gut as well as your infection.
I'll re-post after his appt to see what the doc says.

Best $4 EVER
I'm a HORRIBLe impulse shopper, but this time, this $4 nab REALLY paid off.
Bucko is IN LOVE with these Craoyla Window Crayons.
We started with drawing his name...and that's all it took for him to go completely nuts over them and wear them down to a nub (thank God they self-sharpen by twisting back up lick lip-stitch!)
Lil even made his first doodle today with them!
On another note, we started chelation on Friday, seems to be going well.

*cue Wicked Witch of the West music*
So I get to come home to storms and what looks like is going to be superiorly NASTY weather.
Before I forget though, driving home from Papa's (thank God for the break on the drive back), I had to take a nice, scenic detour down Texas Chainsaw Massacre road thanks to some inbred butt hawk that decided to move their swap shack. Not kidding, I'm driving down LA8 to come into town, and there's a cop car blocking the road, and, what's that wide load? I stop to talk to the officer (who was nice and funny as hell), who tells me "Want a free house? You can have it if you can get it off my road". He then tells me the alternate route-a 30 mile detour-down a road that I'm sure was used for Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Back to the weather-UGH. If I could throw something at the clouds, I would. I love rain storms, but I HATE tornado weather like Sunnis hate Shiites. The wind got up enough sent a few trash cans dancing down the street and the kid's wading pool flew up under the Suburban. Ryan ran to throw it in the garage and put up our camp chairs in off the porch. Ominous?-as he was putting one of the chairs up, Bucko's music truck played the Wicked Witch theme. Creeeeepyyyyyy.
Storm's fixing to roll in full force, I can see it coming in over the hill, so I'm gonna jump off here and watch it roll in.

Don't wanna!
Leavin the Big D tomorrow after a GREAT 10 day stay with my awesome sister and brother in law. Thanks so much for puttin up with us ^_^
Tomorrow is Q's last day of AIT, and so far, we've seen some good changes. At Chili's he was able to sit and chill and enjoy dinner instead of spazzing out from over stimulation (which used to ALWAYS happen).
We saw Transformers Monday, he sat through the whole movie in his own seat, and didn't cover his ears and start humming like he used to either! YAY!!!
We can drive with the windows down and he enjoys it now.
He's trying to vocalize more, mostly nonsensical Q things, but he was "talking" to Woody when he was playing with him the other day.
We're still seeing stimming, but the doc said that'll clear up with chelation (DMSA), and verbalizing will also follow rapidly.
Bucko starts chelation July 11, for a two month course. He does 3 days on, 4 days off since chelation does pull the good minerals out (it's a chemial reaction-that's how it happens), so on the off days, he gets double his supplements and a special mineral suspension so his body keeps what it needs.
Back to Dallas...NOT looking forward to going back to Hillybilly Hell tomorrow. It's been great being able to get the Hell out of there and have a sort-of vacation. I'm going to Whole Foods tonight to stock up on a few things before we leave. I'm so insanely ready to move to San A and be done with Lousyana. Besides having a Whole Foods, SA has Sun Harvest, Central Market, and a slew of small health food stores, not to mention FARMER'S MARKETS!!! Is it sad I get excited over grocery shopping?
I'm off to go get a shower and get ready for Q's afternoon session and then to Toys R Us to get him a Discovery Learning View Master.
