Aaaaaaand I'm back. Been a while since I've had time to sit and actually write. That and something's up with my lap top key board, it bounces around the little blinky thing where your font comes from, and I end up writing in the middle of a sentance, or it randomly highlights areas and when I hit the space bar, it deletes what I wrote O_o
Back to updating, I spend most of this morning attempting to change the date for Quincy's IEP (Individualzed Education Plan-where it has exactly what they're going to work on him with). Since he didn't go to school last year (I'll vent on that cluster pluck later), he had his IEP done at the end of August. Problem with my current date for IEP-Aug. 27-is school starts next Friday, the 14th. I NEED to have his IEP done BEFORE he starts, not two weeks into school. So this morning I played- phone ring-around-the-rosie trying to find someone who could comprehend that all I need to do is CHANGE THE DATE for his IEP meeting. Somehow I got asked "who called you about his IEP", since someone calling me apparently has something to do with changing the day O_o No one has called, I got the info BACK IN MAY, they just told me I couldn't change anything until closer to school starting.
*frustrated mumbling*
I HATE the Lousiana school system, it's a back-asswads NIGHTMARE. I have 3 more months in this Hell Hole, and back to Texas where I can deal with a school system that's NOT number 47 in the nation, 3rd from the bottom! And not to mention the problems I've been having trying to find Quincy an ABA therapist. The only ones are out in Lake Charles, an hour and a half from here, and he's going to have to go every day. No OT in the area, either. Yay for Lousyana!
Now for some news on the boys.
Quincy is doing really well, the chelation looks to be working, he's stimming a lot less, and is trying to vocalize more. It's mostly "Quincy-ese", nonsense words he says to himself or when he's playing, but it's vocalizing. He's also listening and taking directions really well.
Hudson is pulling up on things and "walking"-like holding onto the couch and creeping down it. He jabber jabbers a lot, and just about everything is "cat" (his latest word). He has Momma and Dada down pat, working on "dog", and he waves bye-bye. He'll eat pretty much anything you give him, along with anything he can get his mitts on.
We're planning on going to the Ren Fest, most likely in October (and the last weekend, since that's when EVERYTHING is on sale). I'm excited, I LOVE Ren Fest, especially the excuse to dress up and put my theatre skills to work pretending to be someone else. I'm trying to figure out what to do for the boy's costumes, Ryan and I are "barbarians", mostly because there's really no where we fit in else where in the typical Ren Fest catagories.
That's about it for this ramble, I'm off to prep ribs for dinner and help Bucko pick up the lima beans he decided should "rain" in the living room.
